Life's a Bliptch.
With the sun shining this afternoon, I decided to take an hour off and drive to Ashridge to exercise the dog and take some shots of the glorious Autumn colours.
'The dog behaved herself impeccably for at least 5 minutes, before getting on the scent of a deer, and hurtling off through the wood, oblivious to my shouting and whistling.
Eventually, safely back on her lead, I took some 50 rather blurry shots because she lurched in every direction, rather than sitting perfectly, as she usually does when I have my camera.
When nearly back at the car, I relented and let her off the lead, immediately she ran off and rolled in a very dead badger! I cannot describe the stench.
Driving home, I came across this DIY photo-shoot, pulled over and took this through the window that was already open for obvious reasons!!
The sun had just dipped below the trees, so the light is not as bright as it might have been, but I loved the audacity.
1. Drive onto the perfectly mown lawns of Ashridge House.
2. Park with the stunning backdrop of beech trees in low sunlight and a country house
3. Set up camera and tripod.
4. Snap, snap, snap, snap.
5. Pack up and drive off at extremely high speed.
So, the best shot of the day was taken from in the car, and it's not even very good. The dog stinks, and now I'm beginning to too.
As I said in the title, sometimes, life's a Bliptch.
