If only walls could talk...
... there would be some tales to tell. This ruined croft is on Baleshare (not there again I hear you say) looking across to North Uist and our neighbour Eaval. Who lived there? What went on in this house? When and why did it fall into disrepair? I imagine there would be a few stories worthy of any TV dramatisation.
The weather all day was grey, wet and very windy until just before dusk when a low sun appeared giving the light above on the lichen covered walls of the old black croft. Then it was dig more sand from the Baleshare dunes for our lazy beds - increasingly feeling like a misnomer,
One of the pleasures of life "on the edge" is slowly working through the Jumbo Crossword from the Saturday Times - which of course you can't buy until Sunday on the Isles. A favourite clue this week was "Like a lot of text, it's included in pretty new novel (11)" I thought it worked really well. I'll leave all of you (all?!) to work it out.
