Off to Boracay
Up at 3.00am! Changed had a quick breakfast and then Simmonds Mum drove us to the airport. Checked our bags in which were overweight by rather a lot. It was suppose to be 10kg but ours were way over 15kg! So we had to pay quite a lot more. Simmonds didn't have to check any bags in as he has a tiny backpack for 3 days. They then weighed us and told us out loud which was very bizarre. Got through customs easily and got on our flight. Simmonds and I sat together and Morag was on a completely different seat to us which was strange! Arrived in Boracay in less than a hour. The views from the plane were amazing. Didn't have to show our passports when we arrived again. We took a tricycle to the port...bit of a squeeze with our bags but to the locals we looked like we had masses of space! From the port we took a boat to the island and then took a tricycle to tree house. (station 3) Pretty sweaty by the time I got there. Wondered around to find a good price. Ended up staying at the second tree house in some cheap dorm rooms. Not very nice but a good price. We dumped our bags and went to find a some breakfast. Found a cute bakery and had a cheap croissant. We then headed to the beach to top up our tan. Waves are quite big here so when you try and swim you've got to be careful your bikini doesn't come flying off! We were all absolutely boiling and headed somewhere to cool down for lunch. Found a cute place on the beach with low cushioned seats. The waiters bought us 2 huge fans so we were pretty cool! We had a late lunch before heading back to our BOILING room to have a shower and just chill. Showers are outside ones with cold water and the loos are squatting ones with a bucket to flush them. The normal way!! We had supper at a cool place with cool seats. Morag and I always seem to decide where to eat because of how the seats look!! This time the seats were high wicker ones! Simmonds said he was feeling well so he headed back to the room pretty early. The room is deadly warm so Morag and I went out. We had a couple of drinks and watched a fire show. The fire show wasn't as good as the one in the Perhentian islands... also due to the fact we got petrol in our faces and they were either lady boys or gay!! After the fire show we headed back. The walk to our room is on a straight sandy road but it takes forever! We got back to the room at 12.00am...not a very late night!
