An Opportunity Flown By

I looked out of my kitchen window this morning and saw this perfect rainbow stretching into the heavens.

I happened to have my camera within reach, but rainbows are just rainbows and not really hot blip-material.

So while I am just admiring the view, and aircraft suddenly appeared on its flight path to the nearby airport and for a brief and breathtaking moment sliced through the rainbow.

It would have been a fantastic shot if I had only been fleeter of foot and had got to the camera in time. It even had a 300 mm lens attached.

Sadly, this was not to be.
