easier up than down

A rainy morning so we waited til afternoon to walk along the northern stretch of the Cuckoo Trail parking at Heathfield. We saw some extremely muddy dogs and owners returning to their cars which gave us an uh-oh moment as we were wearing trainers instead of wellies.

The path was passable with care, the puppies had wet bellies by the time we'd completed our walk. They were fascinated by the little stream and had a drink from a flatter bank. For tiny dogs we are constantly amazed by their sporting prowess in jumping both height and width. Hopping over the stream with ease and trying to scramble up the bank was great fun for them. The extending leads have enhanced their walks no end.

My favourite photo from today was Grace considering how to come back down without sliding into the water. That's the end of this week's easy walks, the Husband is back to work tomorrow so I shall be trying out the new extender with the couple.
