Ireland - Day Eight

We spent the day driving around the Beara Penninsula. We decided to skip the more popular Ring of Kerry in favor of the less traveled Beara. Turned out to be a great choice as we mostly had the roads to ourselves. It was a lovely, relaxing day, one that we spend just meandering wherever the road led us.

I think the coastline in this part of Ireland is spectacular - rugged cliffs to sandy beaches and all things in between. This scene appealed to me because of the splash of wildflowers in the foreground.

We stayed at the Sallyport House in Kenmare for two nights where we were treated like members of the family. Wonderful breakfasts and a bed so comfortable you didn't want to leave it...

But, next stop is the Dingle Peninsula! Home of famous Murphy's Ice Cream!
