We have a rat problem?
We'd heard it about between the floors for a couple of nights but when I put on the heating, there was the sound of a lot of gushing water between the cavity walls. And I mean A LOT of gushing water. So when my husband cut out the plasterboard, he found this bit of pipe with the hole. What a performance. Luckily, he had some old pipe from when he fitted the central heating and fixed it but the thing is he can't find the inhibitor that he bought the other day. So, as the weather turns, we have 2 oil heaters burning away in the room we use as an office (the kitchen) and then a wood burner that just seems to heat the living room. I am cold as ice here.
Poison has been put down and it was somewhat quieter last night so no doubt we'll get the obligatory 'smell' of rotting rat flesh in the coming weeks or if we are really lucky, the rat will have vacated and we'll find it on the lawn where they always seem to shuffle off their mortal coils. The joys of living on a farm.
