Upper Taylor River
There is no doubt about it if I want to capture the better light for photography I have to be up with the birds. That was certainly the case this morning. The skies were virtually clear when I started out walking with the dogs just before 6.am. There was a bank of cloud low on the horizon over Wellington and part of the Richmond Range. But it was clear where we walked. The early sunlight was golden and just lovely. We ventured further than planned, right up to the foot of the Taylor Dam.
This is a view of the Upper Taylor River near the dam. The waters are starting to drop in the river…we could really do with some more rain. The Ned is looming in the background in the top left of the image. It was lovely place to be, quiet with no wind, just the sounds of the birds in the trees and distant stock on Meadowbank Station across the river.
