Simpson Memorial

This memorial in West Kilbride Cemetery is to Dr Robert Simpson, an 18th century mathematician at Glasgow University. The plaque describes him as "Promoter of Grecian Geometry". So it's his fault that I had to struggle with Euclidean surfaces at university.
