But, then again . . . . .

The Clock Tower.

I'm very confused by this building.
According to the web site, the clock tower (built circa 1500) is about a century older than the Toll Booth (aka the Old Town Hall) upon which it stands; buildings should be built from the bottom up, not from the top down. The clock is dated 1496, which appears to be genuine, making it even older. Above the clock is a small belfry.
The Toll Booth now houses a nice little cafe, a museum and a cycle club's headquarters, not to mention a rather large function hall.

I was there for the club's AGM, it was another slightly fraught meeting, the chairman, secretary and treasurer had all taken over in the last year and were finding the going a little bit tough, although I had to leave early, I felt it important to leave instructions with one member to propose a vote of thanks to all three of the officers. They may not have run the most efficient meeting I have ever attended but, they did their best and they did get the job done; they are keen, they will learn and, most importantly, they have the respect of the members.
