Kirkcudbright - discovery

Ancestor hunting in the graveyard. Memorial Inscription booklets give you loads of information about gravestones but nothing beats a visit - the information on the pictured stone missed some crucial information, which had been broken & was obscured by grass & growth previously. The missing bit of info explains that the list of people buried here are all the children of Robert Smith, Deacon of the Smiths in Kirkcudbright and his wife Janet McNaught. Robert & Janet are my g-g-g-g-g-grandparents. There is a giant gravestone next to this one with Robert Janet and more of their children & grandchildren.
