There is a wonderful word in Turkish, "Abi" - meaning 'older brother' and it is used constantly in both affection and dispute especially where respect and experience are acknowledged. Today's photo shows some younger musicians after their audition receiving advice on performance skills from older, more experienced persons of opinion. Abi.

On Armistice Day I wonder about the lads who fought in the Great War and I would like to think that all those young men had an 'abi' to give them strength and courage in their darkest days. Green Fields of Flanders
