Rosehaugh Estate
Thank goodness Poppy's hunting instinct seems to have died away for another year. I have noticed every Autumn that she is very restless at this time of the year when we walk in the woods. She continuously wants to be off in amongst the trees following a scent. I'm sure it is the stag's increased scent marking as they try to dominate the competition. There are a lot of deer as well as pheasants on the estate and whilst the pheasants don't worry me too much as they fly off, the deer are another matter.
However today she was back to normal, just the usual sniffing and exploring. We had a lovely afternoon wandering around. I really do appreciate the Scottish "Right to Roam" law.
