Roffey War Memorial In The Rain
It felt right to photograph another War Memorial as it is Armistice Day. The Two Minute Silence was observed at work and this picture was taken at Roffey on my way home as the light was dimming and the rain still falling. There are many hundreds of War Memorials in the UK and they have been carefully recorded in an Inventory created by the Imperial War Museum. This memorial is different to most in that the Crucifix with the roof over it is very common as a wayside cross in the Catholic areas of Germany and other parts of Europe. I think this memorial symbolises both Rememberance and Reconciliation.
