count your blessings

today of all days maybe we need to count our blessings

I don't know if any of you saw "This world - Don't Panic"

the presenter Professor Hans Rosling made me take a look at what we take for granted when he explained the poverty-wealth continuum as

finally get shoes
save for a bike
get a motor bike
get a car
travel by air
name on the waiting list for a space ride

he showed a family in Mozambique who got their first family bike and showed how much it would improve their lives

he then detailed how the first washing machine his family got freed his grandmother to read more and spurred him to get better educated

so today I'm sharing my blessing - a great afternoon tea with a longstanding friend

keep your palaces - this was a joy!
