Ocali Days
Ocali Days is a celebration of Florida history and local culture that covers a period running from the arrival of the Spanish on the continent, the days when the land belonged to the Seminole, trappers and hunters, Cracker pioneer culture, and the civil war.
The organizers do an excellent job each year and the sights (see the Flkr set), sounds (including a cannon that goes off once an hour and scares the daylights out of newcomers to the grounds of the festival), and smells (I love the smell of sugar cane being boiled down) make for an intoxicating mix.
This particular image is today's blip because I like the colors and textures (and Connie suggested it as a finalist) and there were just too many other pics to choose from, a surplus of riches.
Hope you've had a restful or productive (your choise) weekend ... and the adventure continues.
