Since it was such a lovely day I had to go for a cycle. I've not been doing enough of late, and I have a brilliant new bike.

I was trying to reach a forest that I have spied on our ordnance survey map for our local area. I had hoped we could drive to it and walk the dogs there, as the forest we usually walk in Drymen has been harvested and looks pretty bleak. The paths are badly churned up too, so we don't go there anymore.

The map showed that there was a road most of the way, and then a farm track. Unfortunately the track was no longer passable, so I couldn't reach the forest.

Although a failed mission in that respect, it was a fantastic route, with glorious views worthy of a blip. A view that I have looked at all my life. And a downhill run all the way down the Auchincarroch Road on the way home!!
