Ash and Beech

What a beautiful day at the farm today - we had morning coffee and lunch outside on the terrace in warm sunshine. The cows were all basking in the sunshine as well this morning, steaming dry from the rain overnight. Some of our neighbour's sheep had escaped (they had very delicately and carefully walked across the cattle grid - maybe they're not as stupid as I think they are), and we spent a happy half hour chasing them up and down the lane before we got them back inside the field - good exercise! It's amazing that some trees, like the Ash on the left are completely bald, while some, like the Beech on the right, are still covered in golden leaves - winter and autumn together...
