Shropshire fields

We headed off to Ellesmere, in Shropshire, for a gentle walk today - about 7 and a half miles. We walked out of Ellesmere from the Wharf, along the Shropshire Union Canal. We passed by Blake Mere and Cole Mere towards the village of Welshampton, and back to Ellesmere via the back of The Mere itself.

The weather was glorious, giving superb reflections along the canal and great light and shadows in the fields.

At one point we had a great view of the Berwyn Mountains, over in Wales.

To finish the walk off we had a lovely late lunch at the pub in Welshampton on the way home.
