Anglo-Saxon Tower

This very old church is in the village of Kirk Hammerton, not too far from York. The church dates from about 950AD and the tower remains complete. The rest of the church was obviously built much later in the late 1800s.

I've often seen a sign from the main road indicating an 'old church' so today I went to look.

A beautiful day, very frosty this morning and cold, but the sunshine has been lovely.
