St Philip's Church, Joppa on Remembrance Sunday, 2013
Two Luftwaffe pilots from the second world war were given a full funeral service in this church in October 1939 - they were the first enemy casualties to be buried on British soil ( Portobello Cemetery) having taken part in the first daylight air raid on Britain. Sobering memories on such a significant day of National Remembrance.
