I Can Knit!
It's my Grandad's Birthday on Monday & accordingly I have made him a card with none other than the man himself on the front! It features a snap I took of him thrusting a glass of vino at me over a year ago, that did as it happens make blip status. Here is the finished article itself accompanied by a very special, bespoke gift that will also be making its way to his home in the Epsom Downs.
This is the fruit of my labours after a week of hard knitting & I'm rather chuffed with my first ever piece of knitting. I can knit! To my shock, I have learnt to read patterns, with more than a little cajoling from Jenny, & this little knitted remembrance poppy will hopefully make a lovely surprise for my Grandad on his Birthday.
Brommers has joined us for another day of frivolity, it took minimal persuasion, & so we three went to a Christmas & Gift Fair Spectacular at Brighton Racecourse. Brom was our escort for the trip, gladly offering to take us in his Dad's BMW M3 - wow it's a beautiful & punchy car - much to my horror! It's been diabolical weather all day, with fog on top of Ditchling Beacon masking the views, but it was still a fun & picturesque drive over. The emergence of a rainbow heralded our arrival at the very muddy racecourse. The fair was fair, not quite a 'Spectacular', but good nevertheless. We couldn't quite get all the Christmas shopping done, which was a bit of a disappointment, but to raise our spirits we shot over to the Marina for some Nandos chicken & some free refills of fizzy pop! The skies even cleared over the bobbing boats. That's better.
We had another super chilled evening with Brom as our gracious guest once again.
