Lunch time

Today we were back on the Open Garden circuit, starting at SUMMERFIELD at Blakiston, near Nairne which is not far from Mt. Barker. It was also a fundraiser for Novita Children's Services (children with disabilities), with all of the entrance money going to this charity.

This open garden featuring more than 100 roses included plant and produce stalls, raffles and live music, and I even saw one family group having a picnic on the lawns.

The bare bones of the garden were established some years ago, but the present owners took it over 7 years ago and have done amazing things with new plantings. David Austin roses are featured across the front of the house, and this is where I found the bees having lunch.

Bigger bees.

I have not blipped bees since last summer as so many people blip bees and do it far better than me. However, getting two bees together in the one rose was a little different, and definitely made it for my blip of the day.

Our second garden was called HEATHCOTE and was a Balinese themed garden in the Adelaide Hills town of Heathfield. Their basic theme was love, commitment and peace. They also served a wonderful afternoon tea. But no photo from that garden - which I absolutely loved - could dislodge the shot of the two bees!
