Opal Fruits ....
'... made to make your mouth water'
DDW's November Challenge Day 10: "Mouthwatering"
Sadly, Opal Fruits became Starburst in 1998 in order to 'standardise' the name globally. How many other of our childhood sweets have been re-branded like this:
~ Marathon to Snickers
~ Treets to Minstrels
~ Don't even know what happened to Spangles
Went out for dinner with Andrew and Andrea last night. I've known Andrew since high school and he was my best man when i got married. Had a (mostly) lovely meal at a very charming pub, The Bull in Gosmore. My meal was let down by the main course or triple cooked pork belly. Triple cooking should involve 3 different techniques e.g. water bath, roasting etc. to cook the meat & crisp the skin whilst keeping the meat tender and moist. In this case, I suspect triple cooking meant that it was roasted on Thursday night. Unsold so roasted again on Friday night. Unsold, so roasted again on Saturday night and served to me!
