As hard as.....
This was our view today. At first glance it looks pretty dull, but on closer inspection that "mist" is torrential hail coming down, we were stood in an ever-rising massive puddle, it was windy, thundering and lightning, and still the girls played on. Amy is the only one with glasses on her team and she's captain so needs to properly see everyone to shout so she kept having to run to her managers dad on the sideline to get her glasses wiped bless her. To be fair we were moaning but we were bundled up, they just had their kit on, and were happy to play regardless!!
There's 3 matches always being played alongside each other and the other two were called off ages before our girls'. At half time though the ref did make a call and stopped it. So it's a replay. A couple of the opposing teams' dads gave the ref some unnecessary grief, she's only a teenager and they were really out of order. She has to follow proper FA rules and look out for the girls' safety, anyway they weren't impressed, they gave her abuse, so she fined the club :D
It still means we got as wet as is humanly possible.....for nothing, but that's the life of a Northerner, and our glorious weather.....all in the fun of being football parents :)
Afterwards we came home to dry out and thaw, and enjoyed a really lazy afternoon snuggling. Made a call that the fireworks weren't happening so it's Sunday night or keep them stored till New Year.....
