Then I screamed. A cold hand shot out of the engulfing darkness and grabbed my throat. The hand began to tighten. I breathed my last breath, then nothing. Darkness emptyness. A void. I was falling. I had no idea how long i falled for. But the darkness that was, was now fading into the light. The binding light. My eyes fluttered once. Had I seen this place before? I was sure I had. It was the grey skies of Christchurch. But it was empty. Not even the smallest bird. All that lay around me was a barren, empty city. I turned my gaze to the Cathedral. The emulsifying tower still stood, everything still stood. Then i ran. I ran to the one place where I knew it would be warm. The Crossing. I couldn't hear the regular sound of the classical music playing, or the esculators, just my breath. I ran up the dead esculator to my suprise, it was light inside, warm. The warm flowed through my body like a paper boat, flowing down stream. I noticed a small hunched figure with a mop. Whoever they were they were covered in an old shawl. I noticed my reflection in the window, everything still looked the same, my hair, clothes and bracelets. I approached the old wanderer with caution. Their head slowly lifted. I was frightened with what i saw. Nothing. No face. Just an empty head. I collapsed into a state of panic. What was going on? Was i dreaming? No, this was not a dream. Something was wrong. Very Wrong. That was when i heard the sound of hurrying footsteps. I had heard them before. I turned to look, the hag hadn't moved. I turned to see a familar face running up to me. Lucy!? Then i was caught in a tight hug. "We don't have much time, we have to hurry." She pulled me along at a pace that would have normally left me breathless. She gave me a blue cloak to put on, I noticed she was wearing a yellow one. That was when the elevator doors opened, and heard the sound of blood dripping.
