Fire cookies!

As my nephew used to say!
I had a hard time choosing which photo to blip.
A small gathering (compared to last year) braved the rain and huddled round the bonfire in B's field to enjoy some food, drinks, fireworks and friendship. I (as usual) enjoyed taking photos and had quite a few that I was happy with. A mixture of fireworks, portraits, still life and abstract.
In the end I opted for this one. Just a long enough shutter speed to capture the path of the firework but fast enough to freeze the burst. I also liked the pattern the three bursts made.
All in all a good night. And now that I have downed a very good hot chocolate I am very sleepy. Perfect!! :)

PS. The rain did stop and it cleared beautifully. The fire was good and hot and it wasn't till I'd been walking back through the field for quite a while that I realised that the grass was frosty. Then when I got to the car the door was frozen shut! We had no idea it was that cold!!!!
