There are few events I find more moving than the annual Remembrance Festival the evening before The Cenotaph. The sight of the assembled service men and women standing in silence as poppies representing all their colleagues who have given their lives across the years falling on them is truly haunting. It conveys everything it needs to in a very understated but nevertheless direct way. It makes me proud.
