Spot the ball competitions hit their peak of popularity in the 1970's and 80's. It seems some people really took them seriously with special rubber stamps to help them cover the picture with arrangements of crosses! The only competition my dad ever won was a spot the ball competition on the back of a cereal packet with a tiger. We loved playing with the prize - our very own Swingball!
