A soggy morning in Burgess Hill

Saturday morning with Mum in Burgess Hill today. Cold, wet and rather dreary but at least there are plenty of shops to browse. This town has what Estate Agent's blurb would say all the shops for your everyday needs. There are plenty of good charity shops to explore as well as a small covered mall. This view is looking along Church Road in a roughly SE direction. The bandstand is used for all kinds of busking, other live music and charity events. Burgess Hill grew up around brick and tile making together with the London to Brighton railway in the mid 19th Century. Today it is a thriving town that has, along with many towns in the South, expanded considerably over the past 40 years.
