Remembrance

For some reason the people of Ness hold their Remembrance Service on the Saturday before the Sunday that we all associate with being "Remembrance Day", save of course the eleventh day, of the eleventh month. It matters not the day, it is commemorated, that is the most important thing, and that it continues to be.
There is a self explanatory plaque in front on the main body of the memorial which reads:

"North Lewis War Memorial
South Dell - Eoropie
This Memorial Was Erected
In Remembrance Of
Those Who Made The Supreme Sacrifice
In The Two World Wars,
1914 - 1918 1939-1945
And The
Iolaire Disaster 1.1 19
At The Going Down Of The Sun
And In The Morning
We Will Remember Them
Na Cuimhna Gu Bràth"
