The Treasure Within

Nine out of ten times when I think I can’t, it’s usually because I doubt myself. Sometimes I doubt my facts, sometimes my skill, sometimes I'm harsh on myself about the choices I’ve made. Other times I question my instinct, I think I know what’s right, but my mind decides to challenge me and take sides, creating that little niggle that makes you doubt yourself.

What I’ve always found though is that if I clear my thoughts down onto a bit of paper, I usually see that I can, rather than can’t. I’ve learned, sometimes the hard way, that waiting around for something to happen, rather than making it happen troubles me more.

I read all the time, different books, articles, magazines, anything really, but recently whilst reading an old book, I came across something that struck a chord with me that I think I'll use in my learning. It said, “Don’t give into your fears. If you do you won’t be able to talk to your heart…..The only thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve is the fear of failure.”

I think I've always dared to dream, so now when I doubt myself, thinking I must have got it wrong, I take myself outdoors and look at something beautiful and remember what Sherry Levi said, ‘doubts are fear, and fear is: Forgetting Everything’s All Right.’

So tonight's going to be a good night after all.
