A Twinkle in Time
And then.. There was LIGHT.
I sit out here, the chilly air raising goosebumps on my bare arms, one after the other and then all at once. It clears my mind; it brings me back down to earth when my head is swimming in the clouds.
But a clear head? A clear head is really no good. I see things. I see the wisps of my hair being blown across my face. I see the leaves fluttering lightly from their branches, their first home, down to the dewed grass where they will make a new life. I see the shadows of our past, lost and looking for a new place to establish residency.
A clear head is really no good. It makes reality too real. It makes life so tangible. Up in the clouds, nothing can touch you. I'm invincible, I'm fearless, I'm everything. I'd much rather sit goosebumpless, with my head in the clouds, knowing nothing can touch me.
But the chill brings the light. And with light comes reality.
Take me back to the clouds, take away the light, save me before reality comes to steal me.
