Tennis
I went to tennis for the first time with Adam today. Lovely little club just down the road.
The doubles match with Charlie didn’t go so well, but they tried hard. And Adams singles wasn’t looking too flash either. A good game, but he was 4-1 down. And then he did “an Oracle” and came back, to win 6-5. Awesome work! He played hard and persisted. Very proud of the effort!
Then home to investigate the water leak about our house, rather a lot of water streaming down from the neighbouring section, across our cobbled area, onto the lawn, down the steps, under the house, and eventually spilling down the driveway onto the road. I discovered where the leak was, a very large one, shoved my had down to try and find the broken pipe, and dug a few drainage channels to try and take some of the water away …
Only to find out an hour later when City Care arrived that it’s was the sewer that was overflowing. Made me feel sick! A few rags and a stick had blocked it, and it conveniently decided to spill out over our property …
So they unblocked it, called in a the sucker truck to try and take away as much excess water as possible, and then covered the property in disinfectant and sluiced as much of the carnage away …
Finally, out to get a few bits and pieces for Adams boat and the pop-top. A few little jobs ticked off, and out tonight for a BBQ. Hopefully not too late …
