Taking a close look...

...at his handiwork. Or should I say his "beakwork? Beakiwork? Something like that. The pileated woodpecker chopped away at this hole, stopping every few minutes to check on his progress. I chose this for today's blip because it is the first pileated woodpecker I've seen in months; however, I had a good blipping day today, so I posted a few more on my flickr site if you have time for a look.
