Qaqortoq, Greenland...Not this trip!
BackBlipping our Voyage of the Vikings Adventure...Day 7
Qaqortoq, Greenland, with a population of 3,229 souls in 2013, is the most populated town in southern Greenland and the fourth-largest town on the island. We were scheduled to visit this beautiful little town as one of two ports in Greenland. However, this area is known as Iceberg Alley and true to its name there was a huge ice flow between our ship and the town. The Captain tried to figure out a safe way in but with the possibility of not being able to get out...opted to sail on. Better Safe...
I didn't notice them while taking the photos, but when some of my shots were later enlarged I spotted seals on the ice. Cool!
