Ah, I love this time of year. Asparagus. Say no more.

For my money, those tender spears from Chris and Jenny Gray's farm at Motukarara are the best I've ever tasted. From the field out the back to the fridge in the driveway is only a couple of hundred yards. I reckon you won't find fresher...

And yes readers, our dinner was delicious...
