Big screen no more

The big telly....erected at great expense and fanfare to show the 2012 Olympics to the good people of Leicester who quite honestly couldn`t be arsed. Lets face it who wanted to stand in the middle of the street getting neck ache watching the games when you could watch from the comfort of your own sofa.
We did watch the Royal Wedding on it admittedly, but only because the council made it a fun day with tables set out for you to bring your own picnic but other than that not many bothered.
I think the fact that it was costing £42,000 a year to operate and maintain might have had something to do with it being decommissioned...the pigeons will have to find somewhere else to roost now
