ANCESTORS
I'm feeling that I ought to get back to sorting out the family photos, but I just haven't got time at the moment. I had a quick delve and came up with this photo of my Granddad and his brothers. He's the one at back, right, and I think this was taken somewhere between about 1900 and 1903. There were several sisters, too, and Granddad went on to marry and have ten children, of whom my dad was the youngest. All the brothers survived the First World War which must have been quite unusual, although Granddad wasn't on the Front Line anywhere as far as I know. He was in Gibraltar, behind a desk, I think. He died aged 48, when my dad was 5, leaving my grandmother to carry on in difficult times.
This is why I haven't got on with the sorting out - it's so distracting!!
Now, back to work...
