it all takes time

Rice fields

Not one dollar! That moment may have past.

A very different day today, much more time in the saddle. This time covering 46 kilometers which, is apparently 30 miles (I could do the conversion on the iPad but in a hurry to get out for evening meal again so will take their word for it).

The title of the holiday I'm on is very apt as that's where we have spent most of the day, the backroads of Cambodia, passing through many small villages that most visitors just wouldn't see. It's amazing to see how some people, the poor farmers and their families, still live.

We will get a taste of this later when we move from our comfy hotel to bungalows and home stays where life is much more basic. Certainly no internet and no electricity. I'm jumping ahead there.

Not best pleased! Camera playing up!!!

Started the day knowingly on a low battery and part way through morning camera flashed up with the low battery warning. No problem, put spare in, camera didn't work! Turned off, on, off, took battery out, back in, put dead battery back in, camera worked, put back new battery, didn't work. Turned off and back on and it worked!

Went to take a picture a few moments later, camera didn't work!!!

Managed to eek out a few more pictures on the dead battery during the day until it finally gave out. Luckily had the iPhone so I have a few photos on that.

A footnote to this is that now back at the hotel I've tried again and camera works!

Ooooooooooo thunder :-)

We are supposed to have some good storms:-)

That's enough from me. It's been a good long day with good food again and only spoilt by a dodgy battery/camera.

Ps photo is of course of some children pulling a boat from shore in one of the rice fields we travelled through this morning.
