U-Bahn München: 9/100 Candidplatz
Munich underground: 9/100 Candidplatz
Somebody (or rather something) fell into a bucket of very colourful paint. Candidplatz underground station is only 500 metres away from yesterday's station at Brudermühlstraße, right across the river Isar. By foot that is - by underground train it would involve 8 stations and a change of lines. The station was opened in 1997, in a time when finally artist were involved in the underground's planning process not like in the construction of the earliest stations.
An architectural acid trip - and a good one indeed!
I blipped that station once before. Although I think the first shot - involving long exposure and a moving train - is the superior one, I didn't want to do the same angle again. The two captures are enough alike as it is.
Candidplatz has nothing to do with the English word "candid", by the way (that would be ehrlich), but is named after the Netherlandish painter and architect Peter Candid
