Out Cold

Not one of my most favorite insects in the world. The WASP, lethal to everything it encounters. This critter takes no prisoners or at least live ones. it'll attack and kill a monarch butterfly caterpillar, separate its head and take it back to the nest then come back to get the rest...... in pieces. This one was an inch (2.5cm) long and full of agro, no coercion would get it out of the house, I ended ended up knocking it down with a rolled up paper......stunned, photographed and as it regained consciousness i put it outside where it disappeared into the world, hopefully not to come back. I 'll say its one tough, nasty piece of work.
