Autumn clear up
Still on a high, started to think about clearing up around the house. Although it has been dry all week and we had 20°C on Monday, the weather seems to have changed to real autumn. Luckily no frosts yet and not forecast for the coming week but a good amount of rain & wind.
The garden tractor had sucked in a very long nylon rope last Sunday so had to be lifted to get access. Will need it to clear the leaves as most are now down.
Had to remove the Amazone Grasshoper mower/collector so as to put on the bale carrier. Horses will now come in at night and with the cooler weather, we can start feeding the haylage again. Still have 3 bales of 2012 crop which is not the very best but the horses will no doubt eat it when they realise there's nothing better at the moment. Have included a photo of the Amazone in "emptying" mode - allows one to empty the grass/leaves directly on to a trailer.
MrB popped by on his borrowed quad and had a good tip on a problem I was having with the garden tractor. Sadly he didn't get to meet the family but on the the Sunday before they arrived came by with a greeting present - a tin of his home made deer pate which, except for my daughter, we did try and it was good. One would not have the faintest idea it was game.
I crashed out in the afternoon, the adrenaline slowly draining out & the average 3 hours per night sleep since last Sunday catching up. Angie as always kept working away outside, between filling and emptying the washing machine.
An evening meal of some delicious leftovers from the week.
