Urban Decay

It is weird to love urban decay - but I do - empty lots, overgrown weeds, broken foundations that look like as close as the USA can get to Roman Walls and the like. That is why I like it, why my eye is excited - we have so little evidence of really old and worn full of history and story, architecture. No castles but replicas. No Hadrian Wall, no Great Wall, no Pyramids - well in Mexico there are.

So even though these empty lots can be eyesores for some, for me they are evidence of life that came before what here in the USA tends to be new, shoddily built, cookie cutter replicated with the previous lives so quickly forgotten, rarely revered.

There you have it, my bias.
