Fred’s War

On the virtual eve of Armistice Day and in the year before the 100th anniversary of that war to end all wars, Duncan Harley reviews Andrew Davidson’s new book which details the story of Fred Davidson, Andrew’s granddad who against all orders, took a camera to war.
I agreed to review this book after reading on Amazon that it contained just over 250 photographs. My editor assured me that it would be an absolute doddle. With so many images, the text would be minimal. An easy review he said. A couple of hours, no more. Pay me for the review?
Well perhaps, let’s see, two hours less expenses. That’s £3.50 you owe me he quipped.
