The Shah's Garage

Paddy McManus takes a break from work in the Shah's Garage, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim. This garage features in the book "Memoir" written by John McGahern. The current owner John Fox, was originally the apprentice of the Shah, who is long departed.

Why was the garage known as the Shah's?
Apparently, during the Middle Eastern oil crisis it was a source of fuel.

Paddy is a first cousin of John McGahern.
