Day 2, Udaipur
I spent a few hours last night in Delhi airport, which is a large and very modern place. What is not modern is the security, with a huge number of checks to be endured passed through. A medical team, en route to a 2 week clinic in a very remote area, were not sure if they would be allowed to check in, because their e tickets did not pass muster.
The flight to Udaipur was only 1 hour and we saw sunrise over the clouds - magic. After another hour in a rickety coach, we reached the Hotel Shikarbadi, owned by the local maharajah. (It's description as a heritage hotel could be interpreted in more than one way.......)
Here I slept for 3 hours and was then up for lunch and the first photo briefing. We have a lovely group of people here and I think we will get along fine.
At 4.30pm the deer came out of the woods to be fed. They are very tame. I also went to see some of the horses in the stud. They have very funny looking ears that frequently touch each other.
This man is the main rider of this horse. They seem to have a very special bond.
Early night ready for 0700 departure tomorrow!
Back blip from yesterday here.
