The senior service...

Attending an annual padres' conference for air cadet units in the south west of Scotland. It's taking place at HMS Gannet, the search and rescue base by Prestwick Airport. I asked what I could photograph, and the MoD guards had clearly never been asked that question before. In my own military and MoD days it was dreadfully tightly controlled, what images could be taken, to stop it falling into Soviet or Irish hands, I suppose. So, anyway, I snapped the unusual 'gate guardian' for the base, a wooden gannet on a pole.
