careful clearout

I decided to make some room in my cupboards this morning. The school is asking for books to sell at the Xmas fair. I sorted out the books and then got involved in the next shelf which was mainly thousands of recipes ripped out of old magazines.

I was trying to get it all done quickly and picked up a handful. Something made me check through them...."just in case"....

These were in there. Rubbish to anyone else. But to me they are such a powerful memory of my grandma who died when I was away at college. Recipes ripped out of her "dairy diary" which she bought every year from the milkman. On the back of them are her little notes she had jotted down in the diary.

BAM. Straight down memory lane. I am almost sure she whispered in my ear to check that handful of papers.
