Ear Plugs, stretches and on your mark...

It was a beautiful sunrise this morning. My birthday actually. A low pink band of smoke lay on the horizon prior to sunrise. A blood red sun rising through the smoke until later when this shot was taken and it was fully out. The water was sparkling. At first there was just one surfer when I arrived but as it got later, more and more came. This man had his ear plugs in, he put his board down on the sand, did his stretches and then picked it up and ran into the surf. I have yet to see a surfer casually walk in. It is always a run in. Another 34C day so it was good to get out first thing when it was so pleasant. A shame that one bazillion flies seemed to have the same idea.
